<description>Hate crimes are dangerous territory, folks, and have no deterrent effect on people who committ crimes out of racial, sexual, or other discriminatory motives.

What is a hate crime ? It is an illegal act (crime) that is linked to and associated with a prohibited thought (such as racial hatred).

Be careful here, people - I do not believe you know what you are getting into here. How long do you think it will take before we metamorph from an illegal act coupled with a prohibited thought to - a prohibited thought all alone by itself ? - this would be called a THOUGHT crime.

There are enough laws on the books to cover the crime itself and you should be satisfied with that, and with the anti-discrimination laws instead of trying to punish people for their thoughts, a very very dangerous and slippery slope.

Thanks you for your attention to this not-so-small detail.

Anyone out there who agrees and who is brave enough to say so ?
