Through These Brown Eyes- I Saw Obama
By Eddie Griffin
I watched Barack Obama from a VIP seat inside the downtown Fort Worth Convention Center, up close, about as good as it gets. I need no re-broadcast of the nightly news on ABC, NBC, CBS, or FOX. I don’t have to read some shoddy report from the local Star-Telegram newspaper. The mass media can kiss off Eddie Griffin, because I saw it all for myself. (more…)
Obama’s Message to Mark Greene and Fort Worth volunteers:
I want you all to recognize that when Barack gave me the unexpected “Shout-Out” last night, it wasn’t just for me, but for all of you. And when he shook my hand coming off the stage, looked into my eyes and said, “You’ve done a great job,” that message was for all of you… (Full text)

WHO UNDERSTANDS THE PROBLEM OF POVERTY?
I hear the words of Hillary Clinton:
I resolved at a very young age that I’d been blessed and that I was called by my faith and by my upbringing to do what I could to give others the same opportunities and blessings that I took for granted. That’s what gets me up in the morning. That’s what motivates me in this campaign…
I hear the words of Barack Obama:
I was born to a 15-year old single mom and was raised by my grandparents, but they gave me love, an education, and hope…

For years whites have had elected officials that looked like them, thought like them, and experienced the same things as them.
However, I can finally say that following Sen. Barack Obama, and listening to how he has inspired so many different Americans, I can say he is someone who has experienced the same things in life that I’ve gone through. Whether it is racism or being raised by a single parent, this is somebody who I can relate to and who I believe has the country’s best interest.
Having a Black presidential nominee and possibly the first Black president will have a positive effect in the Black community along all income levels and age groups.
Anyway, if Sen. Hillary Clinton doesn’t come though in Texas and Ohio, I sure hope the senior Democratic leadership calls her out and she gracefully decides to step down.
It’s time to get the ball rolling for November!
