I love it. and the part about the rappers portraying the black wemon as if we a are meat. i agree, and i would also like to add that we are all not light skinned or creo, so to speak but caramel, nutmeg, cocoa, milk chocolate, and a whole lot of darker, richer colors.

I am very optimistict about the turn of the century. I feel as though my black poeple are now stepping up to the plate and demanding equal treatment in both entertainment and the world. We are a great people who have overcome so much that it is impossible to not think of us in the same term as strong and very, very resilient. We can never, ever erase that history is what it is but we are the cornerstone to a generation before us that have experienced slavery. Although slavery has to be the worst period and most disgraceful of the history, we were never meant to stay down, and so we rise as we always will. Black women should be proud. Beauty is not skin deep, but culture deep, and we should never allow anyone to think we are anything less. I am very proud of Naomi Campbell for speaking out against racism in the entertainment industry. After all, blacks support that industry faithfully and should have a piece of the pie equally. I wish these rap stars would potray their black women differently. We are not all booty shaking video girls. We are mothers and daughters. We crave education and ownership. So far, we are trumping everything that is like a rock in our path. So be it.
