Quote “Obama’s education budget to cut funding to historically black colleges and universities”
Whats good for white colleges is good for ‘historically black colleges and universities’
Lets not forget about equal rights!
I imagine that everyone tied to the federal budget is going to be subject to cuts unless they show a direct correalation to job-creation…
peace, Villager
Villager: that is a variation of the excuse the government usually uses when they take away whatever little crumbs they dole out to the underclass, poor and particularly the “negroes”, to keep them quiet. It’s the “we all have to tighten our belt” rhetoric, which never seems to apply to the military… and the banks… and the auto industry… oh yeah and the State of Israel… and the Republic of Iraq… and now both the Islamic Republic of Pakistan… and the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
Obama on his post election campaign tour, took the time to go on national televison and articulate to the world why his administration had to pay out billions of dollars because they could not let the banks or the auto industry fail. Was there a direct correlation to job creation? However, there is no such news conference to advocate the necessity for the rebuilding of New Orleans or to continue the $85 million funding for the HBCU.
How much did he dole out to the failing Chrysler and GM? How much directly correlated job creation have they accomplished since receiving that money?
Asa: spot on! The Obama beer goggles are keeping usually righteous folks DRUNK. The man refused to send a rep to the Racism conference, Durban II; he and Harry Reid have both taken prosecuting the war criminals in the Bush administration off the table.
According to Reid: “Justice must be served. Retribution should not be a part of what we’re talking about.” Tell that to the brothers and sisters caught up in the prison industrial complex: “This should be about justice, NOT retribution!” Open up the prisons and let my people go!!!
Now homie is talking about keeping Guantanamo open with secret tribunals, which was something he assured us was gonna be shut down. Lawd ham mercy:))
Forked tongue from the git go.
It’s always easier to close the barn door after the horse runs away. Without any commitments from Mr. Obama the black community supported his bid for the white house. Now that he is the President, there is nothing for us to point to and say keep your promise to the black community. It would have been nice if black people thought about all of this before we supported him so vigorously.
Peace
@ bp,
I agree with you 100%. What amazes me (I guess it really shouldn’t) is the unwavering support he still receives from the AA community, although he has done very little to address the issues or concerns of the community at large. There was no outcry from the community in regards to this issue with the HBCUs that I read or heard. If Bush or a Republican president had cut this funding, regardless of the reasoning, I am sure you wouldn’t hear the AA community rationalizing that everyone has to “tighten their belts” and it’s all about job creation!
@ Freeslave,
“There are none so blind as those, that will not see!”
