Just read the article. Ain’t surprised and its still a travesty. A travesty because Aristide was kidnapped by the US military because he was doing GOOD and forced to live in exile in SA. Did they do that to Papa Doc? Hell no.
Its a travesty because many, particular here in the States, will get stars in their eyes and be able to tell the difference between star power and grassroots bonifides. Sean Penn is in Haiti; why the hell isn’t Wyclef? And why is he spending all of his foundation money on concerts, record producers?
I read something about him defending why he doesn’t need to be in Haiti to be President… That sounds like utter bull to me…
I did not know Wyclef supported the coup to oust Aristide. This says a lot. I also noticed Wyclef didn’t say one thing about what he specifically plans to do to help the Haitian people in his open letter. And supposedly he does not even meet the criteria to run for president. He should not be allowed to run.
I cant wait for the Boondocks to parody this fool.
