From English Al Jazeera:
“Face it, we all know that since 9/11, there have been numerous false “terror” alerts and lies leading to the capture and torture of hundreds of innocent individuals – and the heinous treatment we have all witnessed to from Abu Ghraib. Additionally, we are supposed to believe that multi-war criminal, Colin Powell, was “fooled” by faulty intelligence so much so that he paved the way for the invasion of Iraq by his false testimony at the UN but we are also supposed to unquestioningly believe the US intelligence apparatus when they lie about others such as Dr. Siddiqui.
In any case, in a bizarre scenario – to make a very long story short – Dr. Siddiqui and her three children disappeared for five years from 2003 to 2008, resurfacing in Ghazni, Afghanistan with her oldest child, a son who was then 11. She claimed that for the years she was missing, she was being held in various Pakistani and US prisons being tortured and repeatedly raped. Many prisoners, including Yvonne Ridley, maintain she was incarcerated in Bagram AFB and tortured for at least part of the five missing years.”
Dr. Siddiqui was recently sentenced to 86 years in prison for being a victim of US terror. Follow the link to read more. (Link.)

At a recent press conference sponsored by the Religious Coalition for Reproductive Choice, Walter Fauntroy blasted Glenn Beck’s August 28 “Restoring Honor” rally by saying that when one refers to the Ku Klux Klan and the tea party movement, “you have to use [the terms] interchangeably.”
He continued, “conservatives of this country have declared war on that civil rights movement of the ’60s that brought together a coalition of conscience of people of every race, creed and color for a march on jobs and freedom.”
First of all, Fauntroy should acquaint himself with factual history. A former Democratic congressional delegate from the District of Columbia, he should remember that members of his political party founded the Ku Klux Klan. Secondly, as long as he and liberal Democrats are offended that Beck would have his rally on the same date and venue as Dr. King’s 1963 March on Washington, they should explore another piece of factual history.
The Ku Klux Klan was founded on Dec. 24, 1865. Shouldn’t Fauntroy, as a minister, be offended that the party he belongs to founded a terrorist hate group whose expressed purpose was to terrorize, intimidate and murder Jews, blacks, Catholics and others on the sacred eve of Christ’s birth? As a minister, which should be more offensive — Beck’s rally or that tidbit of fact?
But it’s not really about the date and venue at all. Fauntroy’s vitriol — along with the same from others — is the apoplectic, knee-jerk hysteria intended to foment discord where none exists and none was intended. I find it indefensible that his malevolent and divisive diatribes are presented by the media without contradiction or an addressing of the facts.
Specific to that point, I say it’s time for the likes of Fauntroy, Marc Morial of the National Urban League and Al Sharpton to defend their rhetoric. Over the years, I have quietly offered to debate these types. Now, I throw down the gauntlet and publicly challenge them. I will personally secure a venue to debate any one, or all of them together, pursuant to the legitimacy of their comments. After all, perhaps they have been misquoted or taken out of context. Perhaps they intended to say something else.
If not, I challenge these men to defend their remarks and publicly explain how the tea party compares to a segregationist terror group started by Democrats. I challenge Marc Morial to openly explain, in a debate format, why the Beck rally was “insulting” and a “hijacking the imagery and symbolism” of August 28 and the Lincoln Memorial.
The tea party is a joining together of persons from all political parties. It epitomizes the very thing Fauntroy readily acknowledged that the 1963 march did — it brings together people of conscience of the every race, creed and color to march for jobs and the restoration of constitutional freedoms.
It is time the civil rights establishment were called to not only explain, but stand under the microscope of public debate and demonstrate how their Erebusic rhetoric binds together the fabric of the American community.
I call upon the media to assist me in my effort. The media are quick to parrot every word these so-called civil rights leaders say that is antagonistic and divisive. In the interest of fair reporting, let them be equally quick to insist that they accept my challenge.
Let Fauntroy also explain, under the scrutiny of debate, how he can be so quick to condemn people for joining together to bring our country back to its roots while supporting those responsible for the murder of more than one-third of the present black population through abortion. Let him explain how he calls himself a minister, a reputed man of God, and can encourage people to commit murder.
Religious beliefs may allow one to focus on being a community rabble-rouser — an organizer. But, as a minister, the Word of God calls one to focus on soul-winning — spreading the Word of God and making disciples of those who will follow after Christ.
Fauntroy, Morial and Sharpton are brave attackers in the comfort of their minions, but my challenge is now on the table to see if they have the collective backbone to face me in a debate.
It’s easy to throw stones from behind a fence, but let them step up and defend themselves publicly.
After all, it’s just little ol’ me. They can’t be afraid to face me in a debate. Fauntroy and Sharpton are former presidential candidates, and Morial is certainly accustomed to making accusations from the secure confines of the National Urban League. Here is their chance to defend their convictions — in a public forum — against a lowly essayist such as myself.
C’mon, boys. Are you going to step up, or are you cowards — talking loud and saying nothing for the sake of fomenting discord?

Hello Afrospear family, I am Jessica Ann Mitchell, the facilitator of The Black Love Speak Column (BlackLoveSpeak.com). A few months ago I started another website, BlackBloggerNetwork.com. The purpose of the site is to support the initiatives of Black Bloggers. In an effort to encourage healthy dialogue about issues important to black communities, I am launching a blogging contest on BlackBloggerNetwork.com. Each month BBN will post a new topic. Bloggers will take the topic and write a 500 words or less response. Every month, the best blogger will win a $100 cash prize along with a feature as Blogger of the Month. If you are interested in this contest, please share it with your readers. My hope is that more bloggers will share their thoughts and ideas about issues very pertinent to the lives of African descendants everywhere. The question for the month of October is: Barack Obama is now in the 2nd year of his presidency, has he succeeded or failed in supporting initiatives for Black America? Why or why not? Or has not enough time passed for us to tell? Submissions are due by October 18th, however early submissions are encouraged. The winner will be announced on the 27th. Submissions can be email to BlackBloggernet@gmail.com I also welcome submissions from Afrospear members as well. Furthermore, if there is any news that Afrospear would like me to share with my readers, feel free to let me know. Thank you for your time and consideration. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thanks to Ana for sharing this information. This article at The Silver People Chronicle: The Back Punch Revisted-“We can End the Silence”, is shockingly eye-opening by revealing the experiments that were done on people of African descent in Panama by the U.S. government.
On Friday, October 1st 2010, U. S. Secretary of State Hilary Clinton and Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius issued an official apology to the Central American nation of Guatemala and to Guatemalans residing in the United States for something truly reprehensible that took place about 64 years ago.
Apparently, U.S. scientific researchers, all under the auspices of the U.S. Public Health Service, and with the permission of the Guatemalan government of the time, deliberately infected hundreds (official count is at about 1500) of Guatemalan subjects taken from the mental wards, prisons and from a group of prostitutes with sexually transmitted diseases.
This human experiment took place between 1946 and 1948 and the trail of discovery lead to Dr. Susan Reverby, the same professor of women’s and gender studies who authored two significant books on the Tuskegee Syphilis Experiment, the controversial experiments which prompted a previous official apology in May, 16 1997 from the then President of the United States, Bill Clinton. These experiments were conducted by the U.S.P.H.S. in order to document “the natural progression of the untreated disease.”
The Guatemalan experiments were similar in scope. “The scientists injected the patients with gonorrhea and syphilis — and even encouraged many of them to pass the disease on to others. While the Tuskegee experiment followed the natural progression of syphilis in those already infected, in Guatemala doctors introduced the disease into healthy people. The goal of the study seems to have been to determine the effect of penicillin in the prevention and treatment of venereal diseases. The researchers paid prostitutes infected with syphilis to have sex with prisoners and some subjects were infected by directly inoculating them with the bacterium. When the subjects contracted the disease they were given antibiotics though it is unclear if all infected parties were cured.”
“Along with the official apology the Obama administration has also asked the Institute of Medicine to conduct a review of these experiments. Also, the Presidential Commission for the Study of Bioethical Issues will ask a panel of international experts to review the current state of medical research on humans around the world and ensure that such incidents cannot be repeated.”
Which brings us to the Silver People of Panama. More than 70 years ago hundreds of male laborers of the Silver Roll who were on the verge of retirement were subjected to similar experimentation through what they themselves called “The Back Punch.” As we’ve described in our post on The Back Punch, it consisted of basically healthy subjects either submitting themselves to a painful and potentially dangerous spinal tap to extract spinal fluid or have their retirement papers “lost” or slow tracked to their detriment. The fluid samples were then forwarded to a lab in Switzerland to formulate a pricey serum to be sold on the international market as a remedy for male impotency.
Former President Bill Clinton alluded to something we want to underscore in the case of the Silver Men. He said:
“What was done cannot be undone. But we can end the silence. We can stop turning our heads away. We can look at you in the eye and finally say on behalf of the American people, what the United States government did was shameful, and I am sorry … To our African American citizens, I am sorry that your federal government orchestrated a study so clearly racist.”
We agree with former President Bill Clinton. We think it is time to end the silence concerning what our ancestors called “The Back Punch,” which caused anxiety and much suffering to thousands of laborers under the Gold and Silver Roll system and about the later secrecy with which all issues related to our Silver People of Panama have been treated to date.
At the very least this entire issue, which does touch directly upon bioethics violations by the U.S. Army, merits an investigation. Gorgas Hospital administered the spinal taps almost exclusively although some private clinics were said to have been involved. Since the hospital and labor records archived for this period are neither open nor available to the public, we ask that these records be investigated for possible human rights and bioethics violations.
We have been working towards gaining access to these records for more than three years now and we have been told that all those records are held by the U.S. State Department. These important records are vital to our intangible cultural heritage which has been virtually wiped out on the Black Canal Zone which our ancestors founded and colonized for almost a century.
This story continues.
From Black Agenda Report…
“…Nearly forty years after the Tuskegee horror was made widely known, on October 1, 2010 the Obama administration acknowledged that from 1946 to 1948, United States government scientists infected prisoners and mental patients with syphilis in the central American nation of Guatemala. The project was administered by the Public Health Service, the National Institutes of Health and the Pan American Health Organization and operated with the knowledge of the Guatemalan government. Prostitutes with syphilis were allowed to have sex with prison inmates, and mental patients were directly injected with syphilis or had the bacteria literally poured into their wounds.
“The Tuskegee study became the longest observational study conducted in medical history.”
The story of the Guatemala syphilis experiment immediately brought to mind obvious comparisons with the well known Tuskegee study, but there was also a very direct connection between the two. The Guatemala study was discovered by Wellesley college professor Dr. Susan Reverby in the course of her research on the Tuskegee experiments. Her research on Dr. John C. Cutler who worked on the Tuskegee program in the 1960s, revealed that he operated the Guatemala infection program as well…”
In fact, NO one was ever punished for this “experiment gone wrong.” The question is: did it go wrong? Or did it mutate into other more sinister “experiments” with deadlier consequences?
Dr. Cutler and his confederates were never tried, nor convicted of their crimes… proof of which is that they committed MORE. Its not enough to “apologize” for inhumane conduct when the perpetrators of genocide are to this day “honored” by institutions of higher learning for their “contributions” to their chosen field — of murder.
No, it is necessary to root out this evil at its core. Who will hold the system accountable?
It came just like any blockbuster-cum-hit. This is when it came to light that Zimbabwean tyrant, Robert Mugabe his cabinet and the whole country were duped by just an ignorant witchdoctor to believe that they can get diesel out of the stone. The media has it that Mugabe set a cabinet committee to look into this phantasmagoria.
One Rottina Mavhunga claimed to have discovered refined diesel at a mountainous area. Thus, Mavhunga would pull Zimbabwe nation out of fuel crisis. Interestingly Dr. Mugabe fully and confidently subscribed to this rubbish! I don’t want to boggle my mind asking why did the guy with all many degrees consented to this maniac in the first place. This is not the first person to take Mugabe for a ride. His wife Grace Marufu has always ruled him so as to become the president behind the curtain. And this is the replica of many African first ladies who are using their husbands to rob public coffers.
But again, Mugabe is not alone. In Tanzania, one astrologer did the same to the current president Jakaya Kikwete, when he foretold that anybody that would stand to challenge Kikwete in his party would die instantly. And this farce did work. For nobody stood against the incumbent. After this quack saw how his ‘magic’ worked, before long, he came with another prophecy when his customer president collapsed on 21 August thanks to failing health and being tired. The astrologer said that his subsidence was caused by his enemies. He, thus, promised to protect the president by providing some unseen genies to protect him. Many wondered how the head of state with all body guards could goof this much.
Like Mugabe, Kikwete is currently using public funds to run his campaigns in order to remain in power. His chief campaigners are none but his wife Salma and his son Ridhiwani. Recently, there were undisputed allegations that even the three choppers he is currently using were donated by investors who seek favours in return. Kikwete’s wife and son have been making statements just like presidents. They, too, are acclaimed at the airports by public servants and regional commissioners, who read special speeches as if they’re receiving the president himself.
On this and that of the astrologer, the opposition sought explanations as far as the stance of the government was concerned. The government replied by saying that the astrologer is entitled to freedom of expression (even by making things up!). Regarding abusing public funds by the family of the president, Kikwete’s party, Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) provided forged documents to ‘prove’ that it was hiring plane for the first lady.
What’s more, the quack astrologer, to spice his bulimia, on 28 September the same astrologer who has enjoyed funding from the president, came with yet another gut-wrenching bombshell. He said that either of the two competent presidential aspirants for this year elections, namely Kikwete and his arch contender Dr. Wilbroad Slaa of CHADEMA, will die before polling day! To cut the story short, as I am writing, neither the government nor Kikwete himself has repudiated this hogwash. This means. They believe in it.
Kikwete and Mugabe are neither the first nor the last to show how uneducated they are despite attaining university degrees. In Kenya during the KANU dictatorship, one Indian Kamlesh Pattni duped president Daniel arap Moi and his professor-vice president, George Saitoti, by forming a bogus company that would make Kenya world renown gold producer without even a single mine. This move saw Kenya approaching economic demise.
There are many untold story of sorcery in Africa today. One renown is in Gambia where an ignorant tyrant was duped by magicians to believe that he discovered a cure for AIDS and impotency. What appalls is the fact that his doctor of medicine, Minister of Health Dr. Malick Njie stood by this stupidity. Who is educated between the duo? I don’t want to answer this. In South Africa, the current president Jacob Zuma slept with HIV-positive woman. He took a shower believing it would cure AIDS! How mad and ignorant such a punk is?
The other day news broke that a Tanzanian professor minister received kickback from the investor in minerals. You know what this kickback was? Just to pay school fees for his daughter that was admitted at a substandard college in South Africa.
From such a few episodes you can see why Africa has always lugged behind when it comes to advancement. If all that we have as rulers and policy makers are zombies and lunatics as we have seen in the above examples, especially ‘the Zimbabwean way of discovering pure diesel’, do you think we can make it out of this economic impasse especially when the same are on the helms?
To do away from this suicidal stance Africa is on thanks to having goofy rulers, we need to boot them out and overhaul our education system. If a PhD holder plus many other degrees like Mugabe can be easily cozened, what of a rural farmer?
