Jared Roebuck, the blogger behind Lies Before Breakfast, has recently made it into the Washington Post for remarks he made about Barack Obama’s recent commentary about the African-American community. The reporter quoted from his blog as representative of what young black people are thinking about Obama’s message. It is an understatement to say that the Post is consulting the AfroSphere for gauging the thoughts and perspectives of black America and beyond for its stories is encouraging. On behalf of all of the contributors to AfroSpear, I’d like to say congratulations, Jared! Hopefully this appearance will be the first of many instances where the AfroSphere’s talented voices will be heard by the media.
Check out Jared’s insightful comments in response to AfroSpear’s mission statement.
